Julie Haff, Superintendent has been an educator for more than 29 years, during which time she has served as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, elementary school principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Personnel, and Superintendent. Julie has been an employee of the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District since 1978 and has served as Superintendent of the District since 2002. Ms. Haff is an active member of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and the California School Board’s Association (CSBA). She serves in an elected position on ACSA’s Superintendents Council and has worked on numerous committees involving the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District, Santa Cruz County Office of Education and ACSA. She has presented to the State Board of Education, the California State Senate Education Committee and at the CSBA Annual Conference. In addition, she has been a guest speaker for local universities and is a member of the San Lorenzo Valley Rotary Club. Ms. Haff received her teaching credential from San Jose State University and her Masters in Educational Administration from Santa Clara University.

Laurie Marcellin, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction started working for SLVUSD during the 2006-2007 school year. After 23 years as an educator, she is excited to be working as the Director of Instruction and Curriculum. Laurie has been a K – 10 classroom teacher, and found her true joy in middle and high school! She also supported new teachers with the Santa Cruz New Teacher project before moving on to be an administrator at a middle school in San Jose. Laurie currently works with ETS as a English Language Arts Review Panel member. She also is active in ACSA and ASCD. Laurie attended Biola University and Cal State Fullerton. She received her BA and credential in Fullerton. Before getting her MA at Santa Clara University, she went through the incredible experience of becoming a National Board Certified Teacher.
Liann Reyes Chief Business Officer, Business Services Department comes to the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District after five years with the Scotts Valley Unified School District, where her last position was Director of Business Services. She was one of 25 hand selected participants chosen from the State of California to participate in the prestigious CBO Mentor Project; a rigorous one-year program designed to produce qualified district CBO’s, which she successfully completed in 2007. Liann is also a Certified Chief Business Official through the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) and is a member of ACSA and CASBO.
